Charge Ahead

Two week long sessions | Open to all rising 9th grade students at CHS!

 July 30 - Aug 4 from 9am-1pm and August 6-10 from 9am-1pm

Charge ahead is staffed by faculty and student leaders, Charge Ahead alumni, as well as administrators and counselors!  This provides a great opportunity to meet important leaders and make connections before school starts.

Activities & Events

Student leaders will take participants on guided tours of Chantilly HS, including answers to important questions such as which stairwells are most crowded?  Where do the freshmen hang out? What is a subschool?  What about lockers? 

Motivational speakers will include faculty, staff, coaches, administrators, student and club leaders.

Instructional seminars will be held by student and faculty leaders about such topics as college and career goals, scheduling experiences, AP/Honors classes, electives experience, academy experiences.

Leadership and Student Government representatives will be on hand to talk about their experiences and why students should be involved in Leadership & SGA.   They also serve as daily greeters, table leaders and talk with students about some of the activities and school events that are planned by Leadership.  They will share experiences about clubs, sports, homecoming, school climate and more!

Each week includes the Chantilly Academy Preview Day which is a day to meet the Academy teachers and hear about their subject matter.

There will be a subschool meet and greet where students will meet the AP, Admin Assistants and Counselors in their subschools.

Daily lunch will be provided - some options include Papa John's, Subway, Chick-Fil-A and Chipotle 

And so much more - including games from the Fairfax County Teen Center, a Principal's address, BBQ, Door Prizes, Team Building, a Charge Ahead Purple Tshirt.  

Charge Ahead is truly the best FCPS freshmen orientation program EVER!
