Partnership for Safe Teen Driving (PSTD)

Partnership for Safe Teen Driving

All students enrolled in classroom driver education must attend a 90-minute parent-teen traffic safety presentation. The 90-minute presentation is connected to classroom instruction and must be completed in addition to successful completion of classroom instruction in order for a student to receive a DEC-District 8 card.

The program is available to FCPS students enrolled in grade 10 health and physical education at no charge.

Students who are completing classroom instruction through a commercial driving school, are home schooled, are enrolled in another school division, or are FCPS students in grade 11 or 12 must register to attend the 90-minute parent-teen traffic safety presentation. A $30 fee applies. Registration is available through Adult and Community Education (ACE).

PSTD presentations will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium at Chantilly High School for Chantilly High School students.  Specific dates are provided below.  Please note that presentations are organized by quarter for convenience.  However, Students are Parents may attend the session that is most convenient for them throughout the school year the student is enrolled in Driver's Education.

Presentations begin promptly at 7pm and late arrivals are not permitted.  Please plan accordingly to arrive at least 15 minutes early.

This is a required step in the licensing process and class requirements. The earlier it can be completed the better.
