Fire Fighter 1 & 2 are parts of a fire service training program designed to provide an engaging learning experience for incumbent firefighters who seek to learn about a future in Firefighting. The goal of this course is to give these young firefighters a broader and deeper understanding of and certification for a career in Firefighting.  In this 4-credit course available for rising seniors---students train along side professional firefighters from Fairfax County Fire & Rescue at their facilities on West Ox Road.  Students learn what it takes to safely become part of a career deemed as one of the most dangerous in the world!  Students practice skills necessary to successfully fight live fires, address hazardous material incidents, conduct search and rescue operations, and perform vehicle extractions. We are so proud of these students!

All students must pre-qualify to register for this course.  For more information, please contact Sean McCoart, Professional School Counselor.
