Elizabeth Wu

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Wu and I am currently a senior in AP Studio Art. Next year, I will be attending UVA and majoring in biochemistry.

The works I have included are part of a portfolio that focuses on the personification of humans within Asian streetlife as animals or insects. I tried to associate each human subject with a corresponding creature, whether that be casino players with foxes, card players with a small colony of ants, or a harmonica player with a songbird. I love the intensity and vibrancy of Asian cities and the complexity behind the buildings, backgrounds, and especially each human-animal “character” and wanted to represent such a sentiment through my art.
