Chantilly HS Students Honored at School Board Meeting

Chantilly HS won the 2017 Virginia High School League State Championship - 6A Wells Fargo Cup for Academics.

Academic competitions include Broadcast Journalism, Creative Writing, Debate, Film Festival, Forensics, Literary Magazine, Newspaper, Scholastic Bowl, Theatre (One Act Play), and Yearbook.  Schools accumulate points for placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in state competitions and the school with the most points for the year is awarded the Wells Fargo Cup for Academics.  Chantilly has won the cup 12 times!  

Andromeda, Literary Magazine - Trophy Class  (top award)

The Purple Tide, Newspaper - Trophy Class

Odyssey, Yearbook - Trophy Class

The Knightly News, Broadcast - First Class 

Theatre, One Act Play - State Championship

Forensics - State Championship

Debate - 2nd place 

On September 28th, students who participated in these winning activities and teams joined Mrs. Clougherty, Mrs. Downes and Mrs. Gartlan for recognition by the school board.  In addition to being recognized, students and faculty were congratulated by school board members and posed for photos.
