The National Art Honor Society recently celebrated its first induction ceremony at CHS!

The ceremony officially inducted new and previous members into this honor society. The event was held on December 13th, 2019 and there were students from all different art classes and grade levels, including studio and design, ceramics, digital art, and photography.

Certificate Awards and red carnations were distributed to each member. As in the official guidelines, the red carnations are the honor society’s flower. After the members received their carnations and certificates, everyone enjoyed celebrating with food brought in by all of the members. While relaxing with their family and friends, the NAHS officers handed out some raffle tickets and the winner of the raffle won an original piece of art created by former studio art teacher, practicing artist, and current Assistant Principal Mr. Winfrey. Our president, Suzie Han, was the lucky winner of this prize.

The ceremony was all student planned by the NAHS leadership; Suzie Han, Irem Sen, Bruce Pham, Christina Park, and Allison Soberon with additional help from Mrs. Thomas, Ms. Simmons, and Mrs. Choi. The leadership team worked very hard to produce this event and the CHS Art Department looks forward to making this an annual event the hopes that we are creating a new tradition of celebrating Art at Chantilly High School.
