Dear Students and Parents,

Graduation and related activities will take place very soon.  In order to make these events successful and allow each family to make the appropriate plans, we are providing the following schedule and information.

CLASS DUES: Each high school must pay for the cost of all class activities and events. Cost of senior dues is $100 per student. Class dues can be paid through My School Bucks (MSB). Payment can be made by check, payable to Chantilly High School, and delivered to Ms. Sunny Crosby, Finance Tech, in the main office. Class dues must be paid by Friday, June 2. 

PROM - Saturday, April 29 from 7:00 pm-11:00 pm at the Sweeney Barn (9310 Discovery Blvd, Manassas, VA)

Reminder:  Students who have outstanding fees will not be allowed to purchase prom tickets.

LAPTOP COLLECTION - Early laptop return is available in room 209. Senior laptop collection will begin on Tuesday, May 30 in the lecture hall. Laptops must be returned prior to graduation rehearsal on Tuesday, June 6.

CONVOCATION - Wednesday, May 24 at 3:30 pm in the auditorium. This program is an awards ceremony honoring the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2023.  All are welcome to attend.  Seniors will not be wearing caps and gowns; however we expect appropriate attire.

SENIOR BBQ & SUNSET - Wednesday, May 24 at approximately 5:30 pm (after convocation) at the stadium

Seniors are invited to enjoy hotdogs, hamburgers, turkey burgers, veggie burgers, chips, drinks and ice cream with the class of 2023. This event will conclude at sunset (approximately 8:30 pm).

GRADUATION REHEARSAL - Tuesday, June 6 at 7:00 am in the gymnasium. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!  This will be the only rehearsal for the commencement ceremony. Individuals who fail to attend the rehearsal will be excluded from the graduation ceremony.  NO ONE will be excused from this rehearsal unless approved by Mr. Winfrey, Class of 2023 administrator.

Special instructions for seniors:

  • Report to the gym at 7:00 am.
  • Seniors will be given seating and marching arrangements; they will practice the processional and recessional for commencement.  A complete rehearsal of the program will be conducted.  
  • All laptops, textbooks, fines and other obligations owed to the school must be cleared by Friday, June 2.  Outstanding obligations should be directed to Ms. Sunny Crosby, Finance Officer, in the main office. Cap, gown, senior t-shirt, and alumni sweatshirt will not be distributed until ALL outstanding obligations are met. Diploma will be held until ALL outstanding obligations are met.
  • Cap and gown will be distributed after the rehearsal on Tuesday, June 6.

SENIOR BREAKFAST - Immediately following the graduation rehearsal on Tuesday, June 6 in the cafeteria.

COMMENCEMENT - Wednesday, June 7 at 2 pm (Eagle Bank Arena - George Mason University)

Seniors report at 12:30 pm to the loading dock located behind Eagle Bank Arena. Doors for general admission will open at 1:30 pm. There will be no ticket distribution. There is ample seating and parking at Eagle Bank Arena to accommodate all guests.  Remember, this is a formal affair.  Noise makers and any other inappropriate items, such as signs, balloons, etc. are not allowed and will be permanently confiscated. Eagle Bank Arena is accessible for the handicapped.  The south side entrance provides access into the arena where there are areas to view the ceremony clearly. Please find a GMU usher in a green collared shirt and they will direct you to ADA seating. We are very proud of the Class of 2023; we have been honored to work with the students toward this most significant accomplishment.  Thank you for your outstanding support; we look forward to celebrating with you!

Special instructions for seniors:

  • Students will wear caps and gowns. Students have the following options: button-down shirts, dress pants, dress shoes, and knee-length dresses. Shorts, jeans, tennis shoes, boots or sandals are NOT permitted.  Ties and bow ties are both acceptable. Remember, this is a formal affair; alterations to the cap and gown will not be tolerated.  Any items that violate this policy will be confiscated and not returned.  At the discretion of the Administrative Staff, any senior whose dress and/or behavior are inappropriate for the ceremony will not be allowed to participate.  Your cooperation in making this a meaningful occasion for you, your parents, the community and the school is expected and appreciated.
  • Graduates are to arrive at Eagle Bank Arena by 12:30 pm.  Enter via the loading dock area located on the southside of Eagle Bank Arena. At 12:45 pm, Mr. McKinney will assemble the graduates in the marching order (wearing caps and gowns).
  • We request that parents and guests do not leave their seats to take pictures during the ceremony. A professional photographer has been contracted to take pictures of each senior as the diploma is awarded.  Seniors will be contacted directly by the photographer to place orders. 
  • It has been our experience that traffic is very heavy when approaching Eagle Bank Arena. Please adjust your travel plans to accommodate these delays.

ALL NIGHT GRAD PARTY (ANGP) - Wednesday, June 7 at Chantilly from 11 pm to 5 am. To register your student, please go online at http://chantillyhsptsa.org/ANGP/ANGP.html and complete the online registration form.

Once your account is deactivated, you will not be able to login to your FCPS Google account or access your FCPS Gmail. It is important that you download any files you wish to keep before your last day of school in FCPS. Instructions for downloading your Google data are on the Google Workspace Information for Students and Parents page of the FCPS website. Please work with the tech support team at your school if you have questions.”
