My name is Kamdyn Corbin, I am a senior enrolled in Photography 4 and AP 2D Studio art. Next year I will be attending Coastal Carolina with a major in exercise science and a minor in photography.

My portfolio focuses on what it feels like to be out of touch with reality. I wanted to explore the idea of involuntary escapism through a series of illustrations.

My art style is largely semi-realistic but it also changes depending on what I am trying to portray and convey to the viewers. My art is often influenced by my own imagination, other artist’s works, and sometimes from activities in our daily lives.

What are the different beauties of Indian culture? In several pieces, I investigate by exploring the dance, food, clothes, jewelry, and temples’ architectural aspects of Indian culture and Hinduism as a religion.

How has technology affected the world? In several pieces I explored how technology has affected the lives of animals and humans alike.

The works I have included are part of a portfolio that focuses on the personification of humans within Asian streetlife as animals or insects.

What are the qualities of different types of food that make it constantly desirable? Why do we like to eat, even when we’re not hungry? I explored the specific factors that would make food seem more delicious and heighten our eating experience such as the satisfaction of preparing it or the appealing appearance.

My portfolio mainly focuses on "Latin American Culture," most of my pieces are represented with a diversity of colors using different materials and techniques. Since elementary school, I have been working and creating many pieces mainly focused on my culture.

My portfolio focuses on how life experiences shape an individual; more specifically to myself. I decided to investigate what role anxiety/social anxiety plays throughout my life and how it has affected me (and possibly others as well).

Personally labelled “The Little Things”, my portfolio focuses on small things that make life worth living. Initially, the portfolio simply highlighted happier and calmer moments, such as having breakfast with the family and a nice day outside.

How do the mythologies of the world’s many civilizations compare? What can their deities tell us about their individual cultures? I wanted to deepen my understanding of mythology and challenge myself to include as many ideologies as possible, which I explored throughout my pieces.
